Proselytizing in New York City

For a city that seems so amoral to many inland Americans, there is actually a surprisingly large number of Christian proselytizers in New York City. Perhaps New York attracts them because there are supposedly so many sinners here?

Commuters taking the 7 train from Times Square, or who walk down the tunnel between Port Authority and Time Square, will be intimately familiar with this particularly well stocked group of Christian promoters:

It's only happened to me once or twice, but every so often you'll get somebody who preaches to a captive audience in a subway car. The nerve.
